58-Year-Old South Shore Man Dies In Head-On New Hampshire Car Crash: Police

A man from the South Shore has died in a head-on car crash in New Hampshire, authorities said.

State Troopers responded to the crash on Route 16 in Ossipee, NH, just before 11 a.m. on Tuesday, Jan. 10, New Hampshire State Police report.

Investigation revealed that a vehicle going north on Route 16 crossed over the centerline, near Pine River Pond Road, and hit another car going the opposite way. 

The driver of the car that was struck, identified as 58-year-old Kevin Buote, of Plymouth, MA, was pronounced dead at the scene. His wife confirmed her husband's death on Facebook.

"It is with a very heavy and sad heart. That i must inform you all that my best friend and husband Kevin Buote has passed away yesterday in awful car accident," Gail Wegeler-Buote wrote. "I will give you all [an] update as soon as I get [out of the] ICU. Please pry for my children." 

Meanwhile, the driver of the other vehicle was taken local hospital for treatment, police said. The investigation is ongoing.
